Spiritual Journeys Keep Me Grounded: Devanggana Chauhan

Mumbai: In the fast-paced world of television and radio, where long shooting hours and constant public attention can easily pull one away from inner peace, actor, anchor and RJ Devanggana Chauhan has found her anchor in spirituality. The talented artist, last seen in the show Sapnon Ki Chhalaang and previously part of popular serials like Saavi Ki Sawari and Dhadkan Zindagi Kii, recently opened up about how her spiritual journeys play a vital role in keeping her grounded and emotionally balanced.

Devanggana, a self-proclaimed devotee of Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna, described her visit to the magnificent Statue of Belief (Vishwas Swaroopam) in Rajasthan as a deeply moving experience. “I am a big devotee of Shiva and Krishna, but when I saw the Statue of Belief in Rajasthan, I literally got goosebumps. It was just mesmerizing seeing the 369 ft tall Shiva right in front of me,” she shared with evident emotion.

For her, these pilgrimages are far more than simple getaways. They serve as essential spiritual retreats that recharge her completely. “I enjoy my spiritual trips and I often visit Ujjain Mahakal and Jaipur Govind Dev Ji and be part of the mangla aarti. Whenever I get an opportunity, I would love to take all the spiritual trips together. I am a very spiritual person and it connects me to divine energy. It rejuvenates me and gives me so much of an energy boost,” she explained.

In today’s hectic lifestyle, where stress and anxiety have become common companions, Devanggana believes such sacred places offer a much-needed sanctuary. “Such places have a divine energy which gives you a spiritual retreat. Your heart and chakras feel aligned and energies get balanced. I never get negative thoughts or tension when I go on such trips. It reminds us to live in the moment and it is really important to take such trips,” she said thoughtfully.

One of the most cherished memories from her recent spiritual journey came unexpectedly. While traveling from Udaipur to Beawar in Rajasthan, her driver suggested a brief stop at Nathdwara. What was meant to be a quick detour turned into the highlight of her trip as she stood before the grand Shiva statue. “The most memorable part was that it was impromptu. As I landed in Udaipur and was scheduled to go to Beawar, which is three and a half hours away, on the way there was this place called Nathdwara. The driver took us near the statue and it became the most memorable part of my trip,” she recalled warmly.

Devanggana also highlighted the larger significance of these spiritual destinations, especially for the younger generation. She feels that places like the Statue of Belief, Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple and Jaipur’s Govind Dev Ji Temple play a crucial role in helping young people experience spirituality beyond mere rituals. “Places like these play a very important role. They help the younger generation feel the divine presence and understand spirituality beyond rituals. It is about feeling the energy and finding inner peace,” she emphasized.

Through her honest reflections, Devanggana Chauhan presents spirituality not as an escape but as a practical tool for emotional well-being. In an industry known for its high pressure and unpredictable schedules, her regular visits to sacred sites and participation in early morning aartis demonstrate a conscious effort to stay connected to her roots and inner self.

Her journey reminds many that no matter how busy life gets, taking time for spiritual nourishment can bring clarity, peace and renewed energy. As she continues to balance her professional commitments with these soulful travels, Devanggana stands as a relatable example of how ancient traditions continue to offer strength and grounding in modern times.
